House in Kościelisko

House in Kościelisko with a view of the Tatras

The interior design project for this house in Kościelisko was subordinated to its exceptional location and the view of the Tatras. The spacious living area connects the living room, dining area and kitchen, creating an open interior with a calm, natural character. Light shades of wood, natural stone, warm beiges and soft fabrics dominate.

One of the interior's most important elements is a stone fireplace, which separates the living room from the kitchen area while also forming the central point of the living space. Large glazing opens the interior onto the mountain landscape, making nature an integral part of the arrangement.

Living room with a stone fireplace

The living room was designed as a comfortable, soft relaxation zone. A light sofa, wooden side tables and natural accessories create a cosy atmosphere, while the stone fireplace wall introduces a bolder, raw accent.

The timber ceiling with exposed structure, and stone appearing in several places throughout the house, give the arrangement a character tied to its mountain surroundings, while the whole stays modern and very orderly.

Kitchen and dining area with a marble island

The kitchen was kept in a light colour palette and connected to the dining area. Its central element is a marble island, which contrasts with the wooden cabinetry and light surfaces.

The dining area, with a large table, was placed by the glazing, so the mountain view can be enjoyed during everyday use.

Natural materials and mountain character

Wood, stone, light fabrics and natural decorations repeat consistently throughout the interior. As a result, the house is strongly tied to its location without being a literal interpretation of traditional highland style.
